Introducing a case where I was responsible for the renewal design of an external inspection robot for the stay cables of a cable-stayed bridge!

The "Korokoro Checker" is a robot that travels along the cables of a cable-stayed bridge, capturing and recording images of the outer circumference in 360° for exterior inspection. Arc was responsible for the renewal design of the current machine. While ensuring the inspection performance of the existing machine, we proposed solutions to challenges and achieved a balance that made development costs feasible, leading to manufacturing. We conducted wireless communication surveys and high-temperature and low-temperature evaluations, and upon design changes, we revised the instruction manual and confirmed compatibility with the app before delivery.
