If there is a strong adhesive type, no rivets are needed! A case where product costs could be reduced.
We would like to introduce a case that solved the issue faced by our customer in the corrugated cardboard manufacturing industry, where "the adhesive on the corrugated cardboard is peeling off."
As a countermeasure, we had been using rivets to prevent the hook-and-loop fasteners from peeling off, but this resulted in increased labor costs and longer lead times.
We proposed the 'S adhesive type,' which exhibits approximately 1.5 times the adhesive strength of our standard adhesive tape. This eliminated the peeling during transport without the need for rivets, leading to a reduction in product costs.
【Overview】
■ Issues
- The flaps of C-type plastic cardboard were secured with hook-and-loop fasteners.
- The adhesive part of the hook-and-loop fasteners often peeled off during transport.
- Although rivets were used, the increase in labor costs and processes resulted in longer lead times.
■ Results
- We proposed a type that exhibits approximately 1.5 times the adhesive strength of our standard adhesive tape.
- Peeling during transport was eliminated without the need for rivets, resulting in reduced product costs.
- Short lead times became possible.
