This complicated site involved the renovation of an existing building and the expansion of a new school building, with a total of nine companies participating. The National Media Council of the United Arab Emirates adopted the design proposal by architect Santiago Calatrava for the UAE Pavilion at the 2020 Dubai International Expo. In July 2017, Arabtec Construction, a 100% subsidiary of Arabtec Holding, which is responsible for infrastructure development, won the construction contract for the pavilion.
