Created a mesh model using the mesh creation tool within AIFEM! Results demonstrating the effectiveness of the software.

In this case, we will introduce the modal analysis and static analysis of the turbine rotor using the structural analysis software AIFEM. The analysis results obtained with AIFEM demonstrated the effectiveness of the software through comparison with reference data (a certain commercial software). The model subject to analysis consists of a hub, shroud, and seven blades, forming the turbine rotor. The shape data used is in .stp format, and a mesh model was created using the mesh creation tool within AIFEM. *For detailed content of the article, you can view it through the related links. EMSolution-Lite

Introduction to 2D Electromagnetic Field Analysis Software

EMSolution-Lite is a budget version of EMSolution (electromagnetic field analysis) specifically designed for two-dimensional analysis. While the analysis model is limited to two dimensions, it allows users to utilize most of EMSolution's features (equivalent to the Professional package) for models with up to 100,000 elements. It was created in response to users' demands for an easy way to perform two-dimensional electromagnetic field analysis. For example, it can perform no-load analysis of PM motors as well as PWM voltage source analysis. Additionally, it can analyze the slip-torque characteristics of induction motors. Circuit and motion coupling analysis for electromagnets and actuators is also possible. We encourage you to use it for two-dimensional analysis and parameter surveys of motors, actuators, and more.

Material "New Eddy Current Equivalent Circuit Method" *Free distribution ongoing

Overview of the new eddy current equivalent circuit method (CLN equivalent circuit method) and analysis examples.

This document introduces a new eddy current equivalent circuit method (CLN equivalent circuit method) developed by our company. The CLN equivalent circuit method is a type of model order reduction, based on a new technique that utilizes the orthogonalization of predetermined functions, similar to the mode synthesis method. The conductor shape is represented by a mesh, but unlike conventional FEA, it determines the resistance and inductance of the ladder circuit by alternately performing static magnetic field and static electric field analyses. Additionally, by coupling the ladder circuit with electrical circuits and control circuits, it is possible to solve the eddy current field, including skin effect and proximity effect. 【Features】 ■ Equivalent circuits that include frequency dependence can be obtained in less computation time than conventional methods. ■ Not only frequency domain simulations but also time domain simulations are possible. ■ Conductors can be created using meshes and analyzed with FEA. ■ It is possible to achieve the same computational accuracy at a lower computational cost than conventional FEA circuit coupling analyses. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Example] Rotating Dynamics Eigenvalue Analysis

We conducted a modal complex eigenvalue analysis at the specified rotation speeds to investigate the whirling modes due to rotation, changes in damping, and critical speeds.

**Case Overview** ■Product Name: Simcenter Nastran ■Analysis: Modal Analysis of Natural Frequencies ■Industry: Other The vibration characteristics of rotating bodies exhibit whirl motion due to centrifugal force, tilt vibrations, and gyroscopic effects as the axis rotates, resulting in changes in eigenvalues. When the direction of rotation and whirl motion align, it is referred to as forward whirl; when they are opposite, it is called backward whirl. When the rotational speed matches the eigenvalue of the axis, the amplitude of the whirl increases, leading to instability in the rotating system and potential damage to components. The speed at this point is referred to as the critical speed. In this analysis, modal complex eigenvalue analysis was conducted for specified rotational speeds to investigate the whirl modes induced by rotation, changes in damping, and critical speeds. □ For other functions and details, please refer to the catalog.

[Example] Vibration of liquid tanks and sloshing of the liquid surface during an earthquake.

Case study using seismic waves from the Great East Japan Earthquake!!

**Case Overview** ■Product Name: Simcenter Fema with Nastran ■Industry: Construction There are many structural forms for containers that store liquids and their supports. During an earthquake, the sloshing of the liquid surface inside the tank generates dynamic liquid pressure that acts on the container's side walls and bottom plate, leading to tank damage and rocking vibrations that can cause parts of the bottom plate to lift, resulting in tank damage. This case study utilized the virtual fluid boundary and phantom elements of Simcenter Nastran to perform transient response analysis on three types of tanks, as shown in the right diagram, using the seismic waves from the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake (M9). Below, we present the sloshing behavior and dynamic liquid pressure distribution during the earthquake. * Downloaded from K-NET For more detailed information, please refer to the catalog or contact us directly.

[Example] Efficiency improvement of repetitive calculations using the super element function.

Reduce the computational load of large-scale models!! It can also be utilized for information security!!

**Case Overview** ■Product Name: Simcenter Femap with Nastran ■Industry: Mechanical Components The super-element feature of Simcenter Nastran reduces computational load by dividing large models for analysis or by simplifying parts of the model (external super-elements), thus making the analysis model smaller and shortening computation time when changes are made to other parts. In this case, we validated the analysis accuracy and evaluated the reduction in computation time by simplifying the unchanged boss section as an external super-element and analyzing it in conjunction with the mesh model of the blade section during the eigenvalue design of the fan blades. This method saves computation time, especially in design phases where performance evaluations and repeated calculations at the component level are common, and the more unchanged parts there are, the more significant the benefits. Additionally, by converting in-house component models into super-elements and providing them to other companies, the shapes can be treated as black boxes, thus enhancing information security. □ For other features and details, please refer to the catalog.

PM motor control circuit coupling analysis solution

Introduction to the behavior model, which is a high-speed and high-precision motor model.

Electromagnetic field analysis (FEA) is a powerful tool for motor design and development, capable of considering magnetic saturation and dq-axis interference. Permanent magnet (PM) motors are typically driven by control circuits, and fast coupled analysis is required. At our company, we leverage the high speed and accuracy of EMSolution to create behavior models. By using behavior models based on FEA results, we can simulate behaviors equivalent to those of actual machines. Additionally, control coupled analysis often involves thousands to tens of thousands of steps, which can take several hours for direct coupled analysis with FEA. However, using behavior models reduces the computation time to just a few seconds. 【Features】 ■ Behavior model based on chain magnetic flux ■ Accurate reproduction of magnetic saturation, dq-axis interference, and slot harmonics ■ Enables fast analysis by using as motor elements in control circuit simulators like MATLAB/Simulink, or as nonlinear elements within control circuits *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Mazda's Case Study on the Implementation of Vibration and Noise Analysis Software 'VA One'

Creating a Quiet Car! Introducing Case Studies on the Use of Simulations for Noise Control Measures.

Mazda Corporation's NVH Performance Development Department analyzes sound and vibration, working on the realization and improvement of acoustics, vibration, and ride comfort. In our department, we use 'VA One' to evaluate the noise reduction effects of interior materials in their installed state. By changing parameters such as the arrangement, quantity, and material (sound absorption capacity) of sound-absorbing materials, we can simulate and assess the noise reduction effects of these materials based on the in-vehicle noise levels. This analysis employs a calculation method called SEA, which not only offers fast computation speeds but also allows us to understand the power propagation paths from external inputs, making it useful when considering the arrangement of sound-absorbing materials. 【Benefits of Implementation】 ■ Fast computation speed ■ Ability to understand power propagation paths from external inputs ■ Effective when considering the arrangement of sound-absorbing materials ■ Contributes to achieving maximum sound absorption effects *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
