Our company, which has tackled odor control in various factories, will introduce some case studies. 【Odor Control for Alcohol-Containing Exhaust】 ■Background Due to alcohol-containing exhaust from an existing factory, black mold was growing on the walls, and the annual costs for wall cleaning and repainting were substantial, leading to a consultation regarding alcohol reduction. The target odor was a complex odor containing alcohol from fermented seasonings (a strong smell reminiscent of sweet rice bran). We conducted a preliminary demo test to verify how much alcohol reduction was possible. Currently, there are no odor complaints in the surrounding area, and the regulatory values are being met, with the existing deodorization equipment operating effectively. However, in order to implement further measures, there was a desire to install a new deodorization unit after the existing one without conducting preliminary verification tests or consultations, selecting a duct spray system based on odor quality and exhaust air volume.
