Basic filters useful for creating works in both digital and film.
PL filters are used by many customers as filters that help remove reflections and enhance contrast in color photographs. Traditionally, PL filters have been considered thick due to their rotating structure and the fact that the "polarizing film," which is the heart of the PL filter, is sandwiched between two pieces of glass, resulting in a filter that can cause vignetting (darkening around the edges) when used with wide-angle lenses.
However, in recent years, responding to the demand for PL filters that can be used with wide-angle lenses, Kenko has released a thin "wide-angle compatible PL filter" by polishing the glass after laminating the polarizing film and reducing the glass thickness to 2mm.
