Technical Handbook: Basic Knowledge of Pumps - About Dialant Fluids
Applying force increases viscosity! Introducing the properties of dilatant fluids.
I would like to introduce "dilatant fluid," which is one of the non-Newtonian fluids. Unlike pseudoplastic fluids, which decrease in viscosity when a force is applied, dilatant fluids increase in viscosity when a force is applied. Examples include whipped cream that becomes thicker when stirred and cornstarch mixed with water. 【Examples】 ■ Starch solution ■ Clay slurry ■ Paint *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
