It is used for color temperature conversion of light sources or for adjusting color temperature during shooting. By adjusting the thickness of the polished material, filters with any desired color temperature conversion capability can be created. When the color of a light source visually compares to the color of a perfect black body heated to a certain temperature, and is the same or very similar, the temperature of the perfect black body is referred to as the color temperature.
