[Example] Abnormality notification of machines without a network environment.

Early response to mechanical abnormalities can improve productivity.

We would like to introduce a case study on the use of network monitoring indicator lights that can quickly alert you to equipment abnormalities without the need for a PC. Although there were abnormal outputs from the machinery, the lack of a network environment and the high cost of network construction meant that the administrator had to conduct regular patrols. To address this, we introduced a stack light. It was installed in a location with a network environment, and the mirroring function was used to notify relevant departments of machine abnormalities. This eliminated the need for regular patrols and improved productivity through early response to machine abnormalities. 【Overview】 ■ Conventional - Machine abnormalities could only be detected on-site, and constant monitoring was not possible, leading to decreased productivity due to machine downtime. - Administrators conducted regular patrols. ■ Improvements - Machine abnormalities were transmitted via a wireless control unit and input to the stack light. - The mirroring function of the stack light notified relevant departments of machine abnormalities. - Regular patrols were eliminated, and early responses to machine abnormalities improved productivity. *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us. https://www.patlite.co.jp/ ↓↓↓ Official Online Shop ↓↓↓

[FA Site Improvement Case] I want to visualize the door opening and closing times.

Proposing hygiene management tools for food defense measures to improve quality.

We will introduce an example of improvement in the FA (Factory Automation) field proposed by Patlite. There were no guidelines for opening and closing doors, which sometimes led to them being left open during the transportation of goods or when multiple people were passing through. Since foreign object contamination can be a fatal incident for food factories, we implemented the layered information display light "LA6" as a countermeasure. By enabling passersby and those around to unconsciously recognize the opening and closing of the door, we became able to respond quickly to situations such as forgetting to close the door or leaving a gap. [Case Study] ■ Improvement Issues - The duration of the door being open was left to the awareness of passersby. - Without guidelines, it was difficult to enforce any rules created. - Foreign object contamination poses a critical risk. ■ Proposal - Easily visualize the door opening and closing time with "LA6." - Management of the time that was previously left to others has become straightforward. - With the LA6, it is easy to notice and respond immediately if the door is left ajar, forgotten to be closed, or if something is caught in it. *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us. https://www.patlite.co.jp/

[FA Site Improvement Case] I want to visualize the number of defective products during equipment downtime.

Improving Quality: Identifying the Number of Defective Products through the Visualization of Casting Equipment Error Time!

We will introduce a case study of improvements in FA (Factory Automation) sites proposed by Patlite. Due to errors occurring in the casting equipment, the machine stopped, causing a drop in internal temperature and leading to the production of defective products. However, the downtime could not be monitored on-site, resulting in an inability to confirm the number of defective items. To address this, we introduced the layered information display light "LA6." Upon receiving a signal of an abnormal occurrence, the "LA6" displays the downtime on a timer. By increasing the red timer display in stages from 1 to 5 every minute, it became possible to confirm the downtime from a distance by the number of lit segments. [Case Study] ■ Current Situation - For equipment that experienced an abnormal stop, the person in charge measured the time and identified the number of defective products. - The downtime could not be monitored on-site, and the number of defective items could not be confirmed. ■ Proposal - With the timer display function, the display increases every minute from the occurrence of an abnormality, allowing the downtime to be confirmed from a distance by the number of lit segments. - Wiring is simple, requiring only one additional wire alongside the conventional signal light. - Display time, display color (21 colors), and patterns (15) can be changed using editing software. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us. https://www.patlite.co.jp/

[FA Site Improvement Case] I want to visualize the equipment cycle time.

Predictive maintenance: Visualizing the cycle time of each equipment as part of anomaly management.

We will introduce a case study of improvements in FA (Factory Automation) sites proposed by Patlite. In a manufacturing factory where the equipment status is displayed on an Andon board, there is a problem of not being able to manage the takt time, resulting in processing not being completed as scheduled. In response, we propose the new information display light "LA6 model." This product receives input signals from the equipment and, when the set time is reached, it displays a flashing blue light, making it immediately clear which equipment has a problem. Additionally, it easily notifies the occurrence frequency of takt time overruns, providing early warnings for equipment maintenance. 【Case Study】 ■ Issues - Frequent failures to complete processing within the set time - Understanding the reasons for decreased equipment utilization and implementing visible improvements - While the equipment status is displayed on the Andon board, there are no functions for managing takt time - Significant costs are incurred for additional construction to take signals from each piece of equipment to the Andon board ■ Proposal - Receive input signals from the equipment and display a flashing blue light when the set time is reached - Takt time can be set arbitrarily using the LA6 editing application *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us. https://www.patlite.co.jp/
