Comparison of 560Ah and 280Ah Lithium: Case Study of Lithium-Ion Battery Replacement Service for Forklifts

At the 3PL logistics center, we were using two 1.5-ton counterbalance forklifts (FBT15PN-80B) equipped with 390Ah48V lead batteries, operating 24 hours a day. However, battery replacement was necessary approximately every three years, leading to high costs. To compare, we introduced one unit each of 560Ah48V and 280Ah48V lithium-ion batteries, using one rapid charger and an onboard charger for charging. As a result, we found that the 560Ah lithium capacity had about a 20% longer operating time. We would like to introduce an ODM case of lithium-ion batteries used in EF (fan-equipped) wear. In the development of this lithium-ion battery, it was necessary to address the increase in airflow, support for mobile battery compatibility, and incorporate control specifications via BLE communication.
