[Product Design Case] Ultra-Precision Machining Machine Prototype
A stylish machine tool that evokes the image of "ultra-precision"! Product design case study.
"ASITA" is a machine cover development service provided by Adrise Co., Ltd. We would like to introduce a case study of a prototype for ultra-precision machining requested by Toshiba Machine Co., Ltd., which we designed as a product. The request was to install a dedicated exterior cover tailored to the experimental machine, with the goal of giving users the impression of "ultra-precision." After implementation, we received feedback that in the initial stages, they were able to propose three design options. It was appreciated that the consideration of the machine's structure was broadened. [Case Study] ■ Challenge - To give users handling this machine the impression of "ultra-precision." ■ Proposal - Since the front of the machine features a sliding door with a "windowed door," we designed it as a two-panel sliding door to increase the opening area when the door is opened, improving access to the machining chamber. - We used stainless steel for certain points and incorporated shapes to characterize the design and make it a symbol. - The cover consists of an assembled steel frame covered with a steel cover, designed to be independent and not connected to the main machining unit. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
