ClassNK-PEERLESS creates piping models from point cloud data, achieving 3D modeling in accordance with design standards. At first glance, deformations such as bulges and dents due to aging are not represented, but by using the error evaluation function, the discrepancies between the point cloud and the model can be visualized with a color map. This enables the identification of areas of deterioration or deformation, aiding in the understanding and maintenance of infrastructure conditions. Furthermore, this error evaluation is compatible not only with models created by ClassNK-PEERLESS but also with comparisons to externally created 3D models. For example, after construction is completed, the point cloud can be overlaid with design data to verify construction accuracy and for inspection purposes. Rather than simply storing point clouds, modeling them contributes to the visualization of routine inspections, maintenance tasks, and construction quality.
