[On Publication] The discovery of carbon nanotubes (CNT) by Mr. Iijima in 1991 changed the common understanding of carbon materials even further. It had been thought that hexagonal networks could only form flat surfaces, but it was demonstrated that they could also form tubes with a diameter of 1 nm. As we entered the 2000s, CNT gained significant attention as a key material in nanotechnology due to its fascinating structure and physical properties. This book can be regarded as a specialized work on cutting-edge carbon nanotube technology, supervised by leading figures in the field, Mr. Hiroshi Yui of the NPO Super Composite Research Association and Professor Emeritus Masao Sumida of Tokyo Institute of Technology, and written by top-class researchers.
