Lime plaster is traditionally made by boiling seaweed (funori) to create a glue, then mixing it with hemp fibers (asa-susa) and burnt lime, resulting in what is known as true lime plaster. It can be categorized into types such as sand lime plaster, Tosa lime plaster, and Ryukyu lime plaster. "Seto lime plaster" falls under the category of sand lime plaster.
