Hera drawing process

Achieving short delivery times! We can accommodate deep drawing, complex shapes, and difficult-to-process materials.

"Deep Drawing Processing" is a traditional manufacturing technique that allows for the shaping of metal without annealing, reducing damage to the metal and minimizing costs and time associated with post-processing. Since we manufacture our own cutting tools and drawing molds, we can achieve short delivery times. With skilled techniques, we can produce products with deep draws and complex shapes. We also accommodate a range of materials, from common ones like stainless steel and aluminum to difficult-to-process materials like Inconel and titanium. 【Features】 ■ Short delivery times ■ Capable of producing deep draws and complex shapes ■ Able to handle difficult-to-process materials ■ Reduces costs and time related to damage to the metal and post-processing *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Hera shibori processing (spinning machine, hand squeezing)

It is a seamless processing method that involves pressing a tool against a metal plate to cause plastic deformation, gradually bringing it closer to the mold for shaping.

At Yukiyama Shibori, we offer "Hera Shibori processing." This technique involves fitting metal sheets made of stainless steel, iron, copper, aluminum, and other materials into a rotating mold, and using tools such as "heras" or "rollers" to press against the metal sheet, causing plastic deformation and gradually shaping it to conform to the mold without seams. The concept is similar to lathe processing, and it is fundamentally capable of producing products with a single direction of ejection. 【Features】 ■ Spinning Machine - Capable of producing thick drawn products that cannot be made by hand drawing - Can accommodate material blank diameters up to 900mm ■ Hand Drawing - Produces products that are unsuitable for spinning machine processing - Mainly produces materials with thin thickness *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Examples of "pot" spatula squeezing processing [Prototyping and mass production available from 1 piece!]

Compared to pressed products, the precision of post-molding distortion and other factors is higher in deep drawing processing. It has a low initial investment and is suitable for small-batch production of various types. [Case study materials available]

Hemming is a method of shaping metal sheets by rotating them to form a rotational body shape. The initial investment (such as mold costs) for press molds requires a concave-convex type, while hemming only requires a basic convex type. The cost of a hemming mold starts at 20,000 yen, while a press mold starts at 250,000 yen (for simple shapes), allowing for a very low initial investment, making it suitable for small-batch production of various types. Additionally, because the material is rotated and drawn, the stress in the rolling direction of the material can be reduced, resulting in higher precision in post-shaping distortions compared to pressed products. [Example of Hemming Processing] Made of SUS, thickness 1.2 (maximum outer diameter Φ252, height 50) This is a shabu-shabu pot for 1 to 2 people, formed through two processes from a flat plate. *For details on various processing examples, please see the "PDF Download" below.

Examples of "oval pipe" deep drawing processing [Prototyping and mass production available from 1 piece!]

Compared to pressed products, the precision of post-molding distortion and other factors is high in draw forming processing. It requires low initial investment and is suitable for small-batch production of various types. [Case study materials available]

Hemming is a method of shaping metal sheets by rotating them to form a rotational body shape. The initial investment (such as mold costs) for press molds requires both concave and convex shapes, while for hemming, only convex shapes are fundamentally needed. The cost of a hemming mold starts at 20,000 yen, while a press mold starts at 250,000 yen (for simple shapes), allowing for a very low initial investment, making it suitable for small-batch production of various types. [Example of Hemming Processing] Made of SUS, thickness 1.6 (maximum outer diameter Φ170, height 470) This is a reduction processing of the ends of an oval pipe. *For details on various processing examples, please refer to the "PDF Download" below.

"Case study of 'reel parts' deep drawing processing [Prototyping and mass production available from one piece!]”

Compared to pressed products, the precision of distortion and other factors after molding is high in deep drawing processing. It requires low initial investment and is suitable for small-batch production of various types. [Case study materials available]

Hemming is a method of shaping metal sheets by rotating them to form a rotational body shape. While the initial investment (such as mold costs) for press molds requires a concave and convex type, hemming only requires a basic convex type. The cost of a hemming mold starts from 20,000 yen, while a press mold starts from 250,000 yen (for simple shapes), allowing for a very low initial investment, making it suitable for small-batch production of various types. Additionally, because the material is shaped by rotation, it can reduce the stress in the rolling direction of the material, resulting in higher precision in post-forming distortion compared to pressed products. [Examples of Hemming Processing] Left: Made of SPHC, thickness 2.3 (maximum outer diameter Φ586, height 72) Right: Made of SPCC, thickness 1.6 (maximum outer diameter Φ600, height 10) These are reel parts for winding hydraulic hoses for construction machinery and crane trucks, shaped from flat plates. *For more details on various processing examples, please refer to the "PDF Download" below.

Do you know about "herasuguri processing"? We are currently offering a free explanatory document!

The mold cost for "small-batch production of various types" can be significantly reduced compared to press processing! It achieves high precision in post-molding distortion and results in high-quality finishes.

In metal processing, "press processing" is often adopted, but in the case of "small lot production with many varieties," the high cost of molds becomes a bottleneck... ⇒ Did you know that this issue can be resolved with a method called "spinning"? "Spinning" is a processing method where the material is fitted into a rotating mold and deformed like a "lathe" by pressing a rod-shaped tool against it. While press processing requires two molds with concave and convex shapes, spinning only requires a convex mold, which helps reduce initial investment. Additionally, because it can alleviate the stress in the rolling direction of the material, it offers higher precision in terms of post-forming distortion compared to press-processed products. ★ Currently, we are offering a free document that explains the basics of "spinning." It introduces the advantages compared to press processing, basic processes, and examples of main adopted components. *The document can be viewed via the "PDF Download" link below.
