[Transport Test] We will conduct a series of packaging tests in accordance with the test sequence specified in ISTA 1E.
Overview of the ISTA 1E Test:
- This test applies to packaged products, either a single package or multiple packages, that are loaded on a pallet or skid and secured as a single palletized cargo, for example, with stretch film or bands.
- This test does not take into account temperature, humidity, or atmospheric pressure that may occur during transportation, and it is not a packaging test that simulates the transportation environment. Users can utilize it as a consistent screening test.
- The test consists of Preconditioning, Vibration, Shock, and Corner Drop tests. During Preconditioning, the test samples are left in the test chamber environment for 12 hours before the test.
- If fixed displacement vibration is selected, the frequency at which the cargo bounces is explored, and the frequency is applied to a formula to calculate the excitation time.
- If random vibration is selected, it is excited in the vertical direction only for 60 minutes.
- For the shock test, an impact of 1.7 m per second is applied to the cargo from four directions.
- After a series of vibration tests, shock tests, and corner drop tests are conducted consecutively, the box is opened to check for damage.
- The criteria for pass or fail after the test are to be defined before the test.
