[Proposal/Analysis Case] How to Prototype Performance Improvement Products for Heat Exchangers

We propose a method of installation that involves wrapping around the pipe from the outside! This can simply be expected to improve performance.

We received an inquiry stating, "We would like to prototype an improved product for the existing heat exchanger." As a solution, please consider "wrapping folding fins around the pipe." By wrapping fins around the pipe, the heat exchange surface area is increased, which can simply lead to improved performance. Since this installation method involves wrapping from the outside, it allows for performance verification with minimal effort added to the existing product. Additionally, for some products, it may be more space-efficient to procure only the fin parts rather than the entire pipe. [Case Overview] ■ Issue: We would like to prototype an improved product for the existing heat exchanger. ■ Proposed Solution: Consider wrapping folding fins around the pipe. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Technical Column] "Report on the Joint Research Results Regarding the Contact Thermal Resistance of Fins"

Introducing the contact thermal resistance of pipe and piping outer wrap folding fins!

In this column, we report an excerpt from the results of a joint research conducted with a professor from Mie University regarding the contact thermal resistance during the installation of externally wrapped folding fins on pipes. In this joint research, a heater was inserted into the center of a copper cylinder, and experiments were conducted under natural convection conditions with fins wrapped around it. By measuring various points, we evaluated the effects of the fins, comparisons based on the methods of securing the fins, and the effects of thermal conductive sheets. We invite you to read it. *For more detailed information about the column, please refer to the related links. Feel free to contact us for further inquiries.
