OI Trans

OI Transformers are custom products of Musashino Tsukou, engaged in the design, manufacturing, and sales of various transformers and reactors.

By combining a rectangular-shaped core and a strip-shaped core, we have achieved a slim design with excellent leakage and temperature characteristics. It also has an advantage in installation space compared to the EI type. 【Products Available】 ■ Compact VA Series *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Principle of transformers

Composed of two windings independent of the iron core! Here is an introduction to the principles of transformers!

I will introduce the principles of a transformer. A transformer consists of a core made of iron and two independent windings. The winding connected to the power source is called the primary winding, and the winding connected to the load is called the secondary winding. When an alternating voltage is applied to the primary winding (P), a current flows through it (referred to as the excitation current), which generates a magnetic flux within the core. This change in magnetic flux induces a voltage in the secondary winding (S), and the induced voltages V1 and V2 in the primary and secondary windings are determined by the ratio of the number of turns in the primary winding N1 to the number of turns in the secondary winding N2. When a voltage is applied to the primary winding, a voltage proportional to the number of turns is induced in the secondary winding, and by changing N1 and N2, the ratio of the primary voltage to the secondary voltage can be arbitrarily altered. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.*

Insulation type of transformer

The temperature rise limit is defined by the insulating materials used! An introduction to the types of insulation for transformers.

Transformers are reliable and long-lasting devices, but prolonged use can lead to deterioration of the winding insulation and insulating materials due to temperature effects. They are also significantly affected by the ambient temperature in which they are used. To ensure safe long-term use, temperature rise limits are established based on the insulating materials used, and each type of insulation material has its own specified temperature rise limit. The maximum allowable temperature, under rated conditions, is the temperature rise limit of the insulation type plus the reference ambient temperature (40°C). When installed and used in control panels, it is generally necessary to consider that the internal temperature rise of the panel can be 5 to 10°C. *For more details, please refer to the PDF documentation or feel free to contact us.

Transformer inspection methods

Rich inspection content such as "pressure test" and "inter-layer dielectric strength test"! Introducing the inspection methods for transformers.

We conduct intermediate inspections, final inspections, and shipping inspections for transformers. In the "withstand voltage test," we check whether the insulation between the test subject and other parts maintains appropriate insulation capability. In addition to this, there are other tests such as "inter-layer dielectric strength test," "insulation resistance test," and other items tested during prototype production based on the validity of the design and customer requests. 【Inspection Contents】 ■ Withstand Voltage Test ■ Inter-layer Dielectric Strength Test ■ Insulation Resistance Test ■ No-load Current (Excitation Current) / No-load Loss (Iron Loss) ■ No-load Voltage *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
