What causes lumps in paint? Management of usable time and storage temperature.
Bumps appear on the blown surface. It may not be a foreign substance but rather the gelation of the paint. I will explain the storage conditions.
Bumps appear on the painted surface. Even with foreign matter countermeasures, they do not decrease. It may be due to gelation on the paint side. ────────────── ■Cause of Occurrence Two-component paints begin to react and increase in viscosity the moment they are mixed. Once the usable time is exceeded, microscopic gels form, resulting in bumps on the paint surface. ■Truth Usable time varies significantly with temperature. In a 30-degree environment, the usable time based on 20 degrees is reduced to nearly half. In summer, material storage areas can exceed 40 degrees during the day, and even unopened cans can deteriorate. ■Improvement Measures Record the mixing time on the can and display the usable time according to the temperature. Store paint in a controlled environment between 5-25 degrees and avoid direct sunlight. Please utilize the management materials for paint storage and usable time.
