Proposal of fire-resistant and heat-insulating design of enclosures based on Fire Safety Hazard No. 200, along with measures to prevent thermal runaway propagation between cells, categorized by application.
In lithium-ion batteries, the thermal propagation measures required differ between the storage box and the outer casing and the internal cells and modules. Silsaam offers a lineup of thin insulation panels called "Silsaam Panel (FR)" that can be integrated into side walls, ceilings, doors, and partitions, as well as ultra-thin heat insulation materials called "Silsaam Shilshin" used between cells, within modules, and inside battery packs. Both have a proven track record in applications related to energy storage and batteries. The micro-porous insulation material exhibits low thermal conductivity at high temperatures, contributing to space-saving and lightweight designs of the casing, suppression of thermal propagation to adjacent cells, and accommodating cell expansion. The performance related to Fire Safety Regulation No. 200 is evaluated for the entire casing, including steel plates, doors, openings, and joints.
