Reasons why biochar is gaining attention.

Beneficial microorganisms in the soil proliferate, and the capillary roots of crops develop!

In Japan, it has been used as a soil improvement material for a long time. The porous structure of biochar is expected to improve soil moisture retention and permeability, enhance nutrient retention, promote soil neutralization, facilitate soil aggregate structure, and encourage the proliferation of soil microorganisms (habitat). These effects lead to the proliferation of beneficial microorganisms in the soil for crops, and the development of fine roots in crops. This enhances resistance and prevention against diseases and pests, contributes to increased productivity, and helps prevent continuous cropping disorders. 【Expected Effects】 ■ Improvement of soil moisture retention and permeability ■ Enhancement of nutrient retention ■ Soil neutralization ■ Promotion of soil aggregate structure ■ Proliferation of soil microorganisms (habitat) *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.

Reduction of carbon dioxide through carbon storage using biochar.

Biochar has very high stability and can sequester carbon over the long term!

Biochar refers to the solid (charcoal) obtained from biomass such as wood through pyrolysis in an environment with low oxygen (O2). The soil retention period of the carbon (C) contained in biochar is estimated to be between 100 years and several thousand years, depending on factors such as the temperature during pyrolysis. Generally, the carbon fixation period for trees that have been planted is said to be about 60 years. Burying biochar in agricultural land results in the long-term sequestration of carbon that plants have absorbed from the atmosphere as carbon dioxide (CO2) through photosynthesis, effectively isolating it from the atmosphere for a longer duration. This carbon sequestration contributes to a reduction in the total amount of carbon cycling on the Earth's surface, leading to a decrease in carbon dioxide (CO2) levels. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.*
