This is especially true for thin-walled workpieces, where deformation due to gripping becomes a challenge. Seiko Instruments has developed a highly versatile 2-roll, 1-shoe spindle, applying methods previously used for internal grinding of ball bearing components to avoid deterioration of shape accuracy caused by gripping.
