Comparison of Features between Electron Beam and Laser Beam Methods in Metal 3D Printing
Comparing the output and layer thickness of the "electron beam method" and the "laser beam method"!
Our company offers contract manufacturing services using metal 3D printers. In metal 3D printers that use metal powder, there are two types of heat sources for melting the powder: "electron beam" and "laser beam." The "electron beam" has a higher output compared to the "laser beam," resulting in faster manufacturing speeds. In the "electron beam" method, a pre-sintered state is created to prevent the charging of metal powder, and since it is manufactured at high temperatures, there is less residual stress after manufacturing. This also reduces distortion and cracking due to internal stress, and less support material is required. In the "laser beam" method, smaller powder particle sizes are used, which results in slower manufacturing speeds, but it excels in surface roughness of the manufactured products and is suitable for creating relatively fine structures. 【Features】 ■ Electron Beam Method - Fast manufacturing speed - Requires less support material, providing excellent cost competitiveness - Almost no residual stress occurs after manufacturing, suppressing distortion and cracking due to internal stress ■ Laser Beam Method - Uses powder with small particle sizes - Extremely excellent surface roughness of the products, suitable for creating fine structures *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
