[Information] How to Determine Estimated Prices - Series 5 - (Free Download Available)

"If we shorten the setup time, how will the wage rate change?" I will explain using specific numbers.

Manufacturing costs vary depending on processing methods, machinery used, setup time, processing time, and other factors. In this document, we will examine how manufacturing costs change when setup time is reduced during mass production using machining centers and NC lathes, using specific figures as examples. *It may be easier to understand if you read from "How to Determine Quotation Prices - Series 1: Basic Concepts of Labor Rates." *Please note that the figures used in this document are merely examples and may not reflect the actual circumstances of individual companies.

[Video Material] How to Determine Quotation Prices 6: Internal Setup or External Setup

I will answer the question, 'How should I calculate the estimated price?'

When estimating new products in the manufacturing industry, I believe calculations are based on the "rate" (which may be referred to in various ways such as "processing rate" or "charge," but here we will call it "rate") specific to each company. For newcomers who have just joined the company, there may be many who say, "In our company, the rate is set at ●● yen/minute, and we calculate estimates based on that, but I don't specifically know how that number is determined." To set the rate, one must understand the manufacturing costs. Manufacturing costs vary depending on processing methods, the machines used, setup time, and processing time. In this video, I would like to examine how manufacturing costs change when external setup is implemented during production using machining centers and NC lathes, using specific numbers as examples.

[Video Material] How to Determine Quotation Prices 8: Integration of Parts and Use of Irregular Materials

I will answer the question, 'How should I calculate the estimated price?'

When estimating new products in the manufacturing industry, I believe calculations are based on the "rate" (which may be referred to by various names such as "processing rate" or "charge," but here we will call it "rate") specific to each company. For newcomers who have just joined the company, there may be many who say, "In our company, the rate is set at ●● yen/minute, and we calculate estimates based on that, but I don't really understand how that number is determined." To establish the rate, one must know the manufacturing cost. The manufacturing cost varies depending on the processing method, the machinery used, setup time, processing time, and so on. In this document, I would like to examine, using specific numbers, how the integration of parts and the use of irregular materials affect manufacturing costs, taking the metal processing industry as an example.

Case study of cost reduction in metal processing due to changes to the R shape of the inner corner of the end face.

Change the inner corner to a shape of R10 or less! Process the R in the same way as the through hole to reduce one step!

This is a machine part with a plate shape that includes a through hole and has an inner corner on the end face. The key design point of this machine part is the presence of the inner corner on the end face. The inner corner is difficult to process with an end mill, requiring an additional processing step, which increases labor hours and contributes to cost increases. If there are no mechanical issues, the processing labor can be reduced by changing the inner corner to a shape with a radius of 10 or less. Specifically, by processing the radius in the same step as the through hole, one step can be eliminated. This allows for a reduction in the cost of the machine part. [Case Study] ■ Content: Cost reduction in metal processing by changing the inner corner of the end face to a radius shape ■ Issue: The need for an additional processing step increases labor hours and contributes to cost increases ■ Proposal: Change the inner corner to a shape with a radius of 10 or less ■ Applications: Cost reduction, cutting processing, machining, lathe work, precision processing *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

An example of a cast product made using the lost-wax casting method.

Leave the lost wax castings to us.

The lost wax method, as the name "Lost Wax" suggests, is a technique that uses wax to create complex shapes for casting brittle alloys. Since it does not require expensive molds, it allows for casting without incurring initial costs.
