Uniformity of Content Testing for Tablets Using Near Infrared Analysis (NIR) [Technical Document]

Pharmaceutical-related applications: Uniformity testing of tablet content using Near Infrared Spectroscopy (NIR).

Near-infrared analyzers (NIR) are considered one of the PAT (Process Analytical Technology) tools for monitoring processes due to their fast and accurate measurements. This application note demonstrates that using NIR analyzers can reduce the workload of HPLC analysis in the lab and enable content uniformity testing at near real-time speeds during the tablet compression process. [Technical Document] Near-Infrared Analysis of Methane Potential in Biogas Production

Application 3: Short-term measurement of methane potential (BMP) in biogas production using near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS).

This application note demonstrates that by using near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) with the DS2500 analyzer from Metrohm and the calibration model FlashBMP (from Ondalys), the analysis time for methane production potential (BMP) of various substrates obtained from anaerobic fermentation can be shortened, thereby improving efficiency. In contrast to conventional analytical methods, near-infrared analyzers (NIRS) can analyze BMP values within minutes, making it an analytical technique for optimizing the methane fermentation process. 【Fuel, Energy, Biofuels】

Quality Control Analysis of Polyols Using Near-Infrared Analyzers [Technical Document]

Simultaneous measurement of acid value, hydroxyl value, and moisture content in polyols, which are the raw materials for polyurethane, using near-infrared analysis.

Near Infrared Analyzer Technical Data 11 Petrochemical Resin Polyurethane Resin By using a near-infrared analyzer (NIR), analysis can be performed in its original form without sample pretreatment. Due to its multi-component capability, NIR can simultaneously measure multiple quality parameters in a very short time. As a result, it significantly reduces the time compared to conventional analysis methods. Furthermore, this analytical method allows for analysis without the use of solvents or reagents, which can greatly reduce the operating costs of QC labs.

Technical Data: Quality Control of Pyrolysis Gasoline Using Near-Infrared Analysis.

With a near-infrared analyzer, the diene value (anhydrous maleic acid value) of pyrolysis gasoline (pygas) can be measured in under one minute!

Near-Infrared Analyzer Technical Data 16 Petroleum Gasoline Fuel Pyrolysis Gasoline Pyrolysis gasoline (Pygas) is a byproduct of ethylene production and is unsuitable as motor fuel due to the presence of unwanted conjugated diolefins. To eliminate this drawback, it is necessary to reduce the olefin content to below 2 mg/g using a Selective Hydrogenation Unit (SHU). The diene value (or Maleic Anhydride Value (MAV)) is typically determined by wet chemical analysis through the Diels-Alder reaction (UOP326-17). This wet chemical analysis method requires trained analysts to perform it over several hours. Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (NIRS) contrasts with this chemical analysis method and can be applied as a cost-effective, rapid analytical technique for determining the diene value in pyrolysis gasoline.

Technical Documentation on Bris (Sugar Content) in Juice Using Near Infrared Analyzer (NIR)

Simultaneous measurement of sugar content (Brix), glucose, fructose, and sucrose in fruit juice using near-infrared analyzer.

【Near Infrared Analyzer Technical Data 24 Food and Beverages】 When considering root juice as a product, the sugar content in the product is a very important parameter because it is a sweet beverage. Among these, the contents of fructose, glucose, and sucrose are considered very important sugars for quality control. Traditionally, to measure these sugars in fruit juice through laboratory analysis, liquid chromatography is used along with refractive index measurement. When there are multiple analytical methods like this, each analysis requires time and expertise, as well as the need for different analytical instruments. Near Infrared Spectroscopy (NIRS) is an analytical technique that can simultaneously measure glucose, fructose, sucrose, and Brix in fruit juice in under one minute. Furthermore, it does not require chemical reagents, and no sample pretreatment is necessary.

Moisture Analysis of Fertilizers Using Near Infrared Analysis (NIR) [Technical Document]

Easily measure the moisture content in fertilizers in just a few seconds using a near-infrared analyzer.

Near Infrared Analyzer Technical Data 26 Agriculture Moisture in fertilizers is one of the most commonly measured parameters. Globally, regulations regarding different fertilizers vary, but local legal restrictions must not exceed the maximum moisture content. Various analytical techniques can be used for this moisture measurement. Following the gravimetric method, the Karl Fischer moisture meter is commonly used for accurate moisture measurement. Compared to these methods, near-infrared spectroscopy has unique advantages. It does not use chemical reagents and provides reliable results in just a few seconds. This application note introduces the analysis of moisture content in various fertilizer products using a near-infrared analyzer that allows for rapid and reagent-free analysis.

Quality Control of CBD Oil Using Near-Infrared Analysis Equipment [Technical Document]

Rapid and easy measurement of cannabinoid content using near-infrared analysis (NIR)!

Near Infrared Analyzer Technical Data 28 Pharmaceuticals Cosmetics Cannabidiol (C-B-D) is a popular natural remedy used in many pharmaceuticals, foods, and cosmetics. CBD is just one of over 100 chemical compounds found in the cannabis plant. Unlike tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), CBD is non-psychoactive. This characteristic makes CBD an attractive option for those seeking relief from pain and other symptoms without the psychoactive effects associated with marijuana or resin concentrates. CBD oil is produced by extracting the compound from the plant and then diluting it with a carrier oil (such as coconut oil or hemp seed oil). The standard HPLC method takes a skilled analyst 45 minutes to perform the measurement. In contrast, the near-infrared analyzer (NIR) is a cost-effective and rapid analytical method for measuring cannabinoid content in oils.
