KBK Non-Stick Coating K-Stef

Kurashiki Bowling Machinery will change its non-stick coating!!

In recent years, society has been actively moving towards the reuse of various materials for the sake of environmental protection. In the paper industry, there has been a vigorous movement to increase the ratio of recycled paper in terms of raw material reuse. However, the reality is that the recycled paper actually used often comes from overseas or has been reused multiple times, leading to a decline in the quality of recycled paper. Consequently, a significant amount of pitch is generated during the paper-making process due to the mixing of this recycled paper into the raw materials. As a result, non-stick properties on the surface of each roll are required, and currently, a method of firing fluororesin on the surface after thermal spraying using a firing furnace is being employed as a countermeasure. However, this method poses issues such as high temperatures that can cause distortion or shaft displacement in the rolls, as well as the problem that on-site construction is impossible due to the use of a firing furnace. To address these issues, KBK has developed K-Stef® to solve these problems!

For the release and non-stick properties of solution polymerized styrene-butadiene rubber (S-SBR)!

Introducing coating technology that achieves non-stick and release properties on contact surfaces.

With the expansion of electric vehicle (EV) adoption, the tire industry is rapidly developing EV-specific tires that have different performance characteristics compared to traditional gasoline vehicles. Among these, SSBR is gaining attention as a material that significantly improves tire performance due to its unique molecular structure compared to conventional styrene-butadiene rubber (E-SBR). On the other hand, SSBR is inherently a highly adhesive substance, increasing the need for non-adhesive coatings in the manufacturing process. [Need for Non-Adhesive Coatings in the Manufacturing Process] ■ Adhesion prevention is necessary during the storage and transportation of uncured rubber. ■ Adhesion prevention is necessary when handling extruded products and pre-formed products. ■ Adhesion prevention is necessary in the tire manufacturing process. If you are experiencing troubles or decreased productivity due to adhesion issues in the manufacturing process, please consider non-adhesive coatings. Yoshida SKT offers a variety of coating options. We will propose non-adhesive coatings that match each process. *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.

Non-stick coating

A resin with extremely excellent chemical resistance, heat resistance, and electrical properties! Fluororesin processing boasts a significant market share.

The so-called "non-stick" effect represented by the surface treatment of frying pans is the effect of fluoropolymer (Teflon), which is characterized by "release properties and non-stickiness." Once fluorine bonds, it transforms into a property that "does not allow other substances to stick" after formation. This can be described as the non-stick action of fluorine. Compared to other synthetic resins, it possesses unique properties, resulting in a wide range of applications. 【Examples of Characteristics】 ■ Chemical resistance ■ Electrical properties: Due to the structure of fluorine, it is non-polar, and the electrical effects on the resin surface are consistently extremely low, making its insulation resistance and breakdown strength particularly excellent among plastic resins. ■ Heat resistance: Generally boasts a wide range of heat resistance from -100 to +260°C. ※ There may be variations depending on the type of fluoropolymer. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Maintenance period extended by 20 times! Case study of continuous cutting process of PP sheets.

What is a non-stick coating that extends the maintenance cycle of cutting blades by 20 times? *Currently offering a collection of case studies on surface treatments that improve adhesive troubles with cutting tools.

We would like to introduce a case study from the process of cutting thin PP sheets used for clear files. ■ Key Points of the Issue - A problem occurred where the PP sheet stuck to the cutting blade, causing the line to stop. - The blade type is a shear type with two blades, similar to scissors. - When PP adheres, the cutting surface becomes rough, leading to product defects. ■ Background of Selection - Standard fluororesin coatings have a thick film that reduces cutting performance. - The non-stick properties of fluororesin may sometimes be insufficient to prevent sticking. - A thin, superior non-stick coating compared to fluororesin coatings is needed. ■ Effects of the Coating - Troubles that occurred every other day have ceased for a month and a half. - The coating protects the blade edge, reducing the risk of workers cutting their hands. - By reducing product defects, it eliminates material loss amounting to tens of thousands of tons annually. Non-stick coatings for blades contribute to increased productivity, cost reduction, and improved safety. You can download a collection of case studies on cutting process improvements. We also have a trial set of the coating available. Please feel free to apply. ▽ Click here to apply for the collection of cutting process improvement case studies and the trial set ▽

Surface treatment example: Precision non-stick coating applicable to polyester.

We would like to introduce a case where a highly precise non-stick coating suitable for processing with a jig made of polyester mesh has been adopted.

This is a case of surface treatment to prevent adhesive from sticking to the jig used in an automatic machine for laminating films. ■Consultation When laminating films with adhesive, a polyester mesh for screen printing is fixed to a metal frame and used as a positioning jig. The consultation was to solve the issue of adhesive that overflows from the film sticking to the polyester mesh, which contaminates the product's film. ■Conditions for Choosing Treatment The surface treatment requires low-temperature processability that can be applied to polyester and precision that does not crush the mesh openings. 【Issues to be Resolved】 - Non-adhesiveness to prevent adhesive from sticking - Precision that does not crush the mesh openings - Low-temperature processability ■Adopted Coating 'NanoProcess(R)' ■Achieved Effects We proposed 'NanoProcess,' which has high non-adhesiveness that prevents adhesive from sticking, including tape adhesive, and can be processed at low temperatures without affecting the polyester mesh. With the adoption of this surface treatment, products that pass quality inspection can now be produced, and it has been officially adopted. *For more details on NanoProcess, please download the PDF or contact us.
