The PX4200 series pressure sensor (current output) is made with a Silicon On Sapphire (SOS) sensor. The SOS structure uses a highly stable solid-state silicon strain gauge on a sapphire carrier, which is a glass bonded to a titanium diaphragm. Due to this combination, it is a highly durable pressure sensor with excellent stability and corrosion resistance over a wide temperature range.
