[Custom Power Supply Case Study] Telecommunications Equipment Manufacturer
Introducing a case that achieves VCCI Class B with the same form factor, balancing high efficiency and low noise!
We would like to introduce a case in which we received a consultation from a communication equipment manufacturer regarding the power supply for optical transmission equipment substation, expressing the desire to "raise the standard level from VCCI Class A to Class B without changing the chassis size." VCCI Class B has stricter noise standards compared to Class A, and it is technically challenging to meet these standards without altering the structure. Therefore, achieving both noise countermeasures and maintaining the external dimensions became the biggest hurdle. The custom-designed power supply unit we developed was able to achieve results such as reducing power loss, alleviating cooling load, and realizing space-saving within the chassis through high power density. 【Case Overview】 ■Challenge - To raise the standard level from VCCI Class A to Class B without changing the chassis size. ■Solution - Securing implementation space by creating a sub-board for the control circuit. - Reviewing the configuration and installation method of the heat sink. - Optimizing structural design and circuit board layout. - Considering implementation methods that take into account the manufacturing process through close collaboration among design engineers. *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.
