One of the challenges that cannot be overlooked in electronic components and circuit board design is deformation due to heat. This time, I will discuss thermal warping that occurs due to temperature changes in multilayer structures with different materials in each layer.

Many people may have experienced issues such as unstable operation of digital control boards or missing communication data, albeit rarely. This "rarely" is quite troublesome, as it is usually difficult to reproduce the malfunction. Additionally, capturing the malfunction, analyzing the cause, and implementing the correct countermeasures requires a certain level of experience. These sporadic issues may be related to the waveform quality of signals that use edges, such as clocks. In this article, we will briefly introduce the malfunctions caused by edge disturbances.

In addition to designing and prototyping general boards equipped with general-purpose ICs and passive components at WTI, we also provide design and prototyping support for evaluation boards using bare semiconductor chips for universities and research institutions, which is not widely known.
