Shaft additional processing | Keyway, D-cut, horizontal hole, irregular shape processing
Additional processing on shafts after lathe machining, hardening, and polishing. We will check the reference positions and angles for key grooves, D-cuts, and cross holes, and consider the holding methods.
At Hanshin Seiko, we accept special additional processing on supplied shafts that have been lathe-turned, heat-treated, and polished. Please consult us about key grooves, D-cuts, two-sided widths, notches, slits, lateral holes, small diameter holes, and irregular holes on end faces. We consider suitable methods for wire cutting, shape electric discharge, fine hole electric discharge, and machining based on material, hardness, and processing shape. We differentiate processing methods according to conditions such as through shapes, bottom shapes, and small diameter holes. For additional processing at multiple locations, we check the axis center, end faces, existing key grooves, and reference holes, taking into account the angular relationship between key grooves and lateral holes, as well as the phase of end face shapes. The polished outer diameter is considered for scratch prevention, and for elongated shafts, we examine the setup based on total length, diameter, processing position, and points that can be held. Please also consult us about additional processing due to design changes or outsourcing only the electric discharge processing steps. Along with a drawing that shows the entire shaft, please inform us of the current processing state, additional processing details, quantity, and desired delivery date.
