High dielectric elastomers applicable for sensor applications.
Achieving both high dielectric constant and flexibility. A new elastomer material expected to be applied in capacitive sensor applications, updated in July 2026.
The high dielectric elastomer developed by our company is a novel functional material that achieves both high dielectric constant and flexibility by grafting elastomer components onto the surface of barium titanate particles, which are ferroelectric. The dielectric constant and flexibility can be adjusted according to the application, and it can also be processed into thin films (on the order of tens of micrometers) using a solvent casting method. In prototype evaluations of capacitive sensors using this material as the dielectric layer, we confirmed changes in capacitance corresponding to applied loads, showing approximately 15% capacitance change and good linear response at a load of 50N. These results indicate the potential of this material for use as a dielectric material in capacitive sensors. This is a proposal for high dielectric materials to be used not in the sensor devices themselves, but in sensors, haptic devices, robotic skins, wearable devices, and various electronic components. We offer optimization of dielectric constant, flexibility, and processability according to customer requirements. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.*
