[Case Study] Development of Snow Melting Heater-Based Snowfall Prevention Equipment

Vehicles operating on snowy and cold ground face various challenges related to snow. Our company is advancing research and development with JR East on vehicle components that have snow-melting functions by utilizing technology to make "fabric heaters" from FRP. In addition to the bogie end cover, development is ongoing, and by adding new functions to lightweight and structurally strong FRP, new applications can be considered. 【Case Study】 ■ Objectives - Develop a bogie end cover with a surface heater to improve snow-melting performance through heat generation. - Develop a hot water de-icing device to achieve snow shedding by spraying hot water. ■ Test Results on Actual Vehicles - Confirmed snow-melting effect equivalent to existing products. - Snow shedding through hot water spraying was effective. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
