Back Number [October 2026] Remote Monitoring Camera Moving Rail
The curtain rail carries the "camera." A single camera moves around a wide area on the ceiling rail, automating inspection and monitoring.
This is the back issue of the Toso Industrial Materials Department newsletter for October 2026. This month's feature is on a new use for curtain rails: "Rails for Remote Inspection and Surveillance Camera Movement." By attaching a surveillance camera to the front of an electric curtain rail and moving it along the rail, one camera can monitor and inspect a wide area. This reduces blind spots without the need to increase the number of fixed cameras, and it cuts down on the travel time for inspections that were previously done by personnel. For over 60 years, Toso has been the number one curtain rail manufacturer in Japan, honing our technology for "suspending and moving smoothly." Now, we want to expand this technology to applications that involve suspending and moving items other than curtains. "It would be convenient if we could move such items from the ceiling"—we would love to hear your thoughts on this.
