[Case Study of Distillation Equipment Introduction] In-house Solvent Recovery and Purification

Introduction of recovery and refining equipment! A case where existing facilities were effectively utilized to reduce installation costs.

We would like to introduce a case where we implemented our distillation equipment for in-house solvent recovery and purification. Before the implementation, we relied on a waste solvent recovery company for collection and purification, which incurred costs, and we had to adjust production based on the timing of waste solvent collection. Therefore, we conducted distillation tests using waste solvent samples and evaluated the results. We would like to introduce a case study of the implementation of our bioethanol pilot plant distillation equipment. The challenges included concerns about scaling within the mash column and the potential for entrained droplets in the distillation apparatus for the pilot plant. As a solution, we adopted a vacuum column to distill the fermented mash liquid using low-temperature steam, which reduced scaling. Tokachi region - Large-scale demonstration model plant for bioethanol! Our company is responsible for the distillation and dehydration processes.

We would like to introduce the case of the "Bioethanol Plant" constructed in the Tokachi region of Hokkaido as part of the national project "Biofuel Regional Utilization Model Demonstration Project" promoted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. Our company is responsible for the distillation and dehydration processes, and we constructed the plant in collaboration with Kirin Brewery Company, Limited and Mitsubishi Corporation. The "ammonia catalytic deodorization device" is a system that oxidatively decomposes ammonia gas emitted from stripping towers and production processes using an ammonia decomposition catalyst, rendering it harmless. The "Stripping Tower / Absorption Tower" is an ammonia treatment facility designed to separate and recover ammonia from wastewater containing ammonia (including salts). The lower part of the absorption tower functions as a barometric condenser, circulating and cooling the absorbed ammonia water, and concentrating the ammonia/water vapor that exits from the top of the stripping tower.
