By decreasing the rotational speed, the resulting torque increases. I will explain the relationship between the reduction ratio and output torque, as well as the principles and calculation methods, using specific examples! <What is the relationship between reduction ratio and torque?> The relationship between reduction ratio and output torque is an important concept in mechanical engineering and machine design. The reduction ratio indicates the ratio of the rotational speeds of the input shaft (such as a motor shaft) to the output shaft (usually the side where the load is applied), and it affects the output torque. The relationship is as follows: Output Torque = Input Torque × 1/Reduction Ratio × Transmission Efficiency When the reduction ratio is increased, the rotational speed of the output shaft becomes significantly lower than that of the input shaft, but the output torque increases. For example, in a bicycle with gears, a large torque is needed when starting, so the reduction ratio is increased, while it is decreased during high-speed operation.
