The shape the customer was considering was made by processing and welding square pipes and angles. As a result, there were challenges not only in terms of cost but also in weight due to the extensive machining required. We would like to introduce a case study of titanium products from Yoshikawa Co., Ltd. We received a request from a sake manufacturer to create a container for Daiginjo sake to be sold as part of a millennium project. The desired shape was a gourd (osume and mesu) made of titanium. By selecting titanium, a material that is difficult to process, we were able to achieve the extreme curved shape of the gourd. We would like to introduce a case study of the "bathtub handle" manufactured by Yoshikawa Co., Ltd., which designs, manufactures, and ships stainless steel products. The customer's request was to maintain the strength of the handle while reducing its weight. The challenge with conventional bathtub handles was that many were heavy due to being filled with metal. In response, we proposed using manufacturing techniques from Western tableware to create the handle parts by bonding them together. By adopting a hollow structure, we were able to achieve both strength and lightness.
