POS stands for Point Of Sales, which refers to a sales point management system. It is a concept that aims to connect business management (such as sales management, inventory management, and purchasing management) in real-time at the moment of sale. Generally, it is used in cash registers at supermarkets, convenience stores, and similar establishments. To process efficiently, it is equipped with barcode readers, cash drawers, receipt printers, and display devices. Until now, POS systems were dedicated machines, but the biggest feature is that they have become affordable POS systems using commercially available PCs and network-based systems. With the internet (which requires various security measures), POS can be used from anywhere in Japan. Additionally, not only is it a POS system, but it also integrates sales management, inventory management, and purchasing management functions into one set, making it usable not only for POS applications but also as a general sales management system for non-face-to-face sales. Our company has built and operated sales, purchasing, and inventory management systems primarily for the manufacturing industry. We have embodied these achievements in this system.

Free membership registrationWhen instructing a computer to execute a program, it is generally done through command line instructions or by clicking icons. However, when considering a business system of a certain scale, the number of programs can reach several dozen or even hundreds. Manually starting them would be quite burdensome. Additionally, it is important to know whether the processing results are successful or not. Therefore, to automatically start these programs, Onnet Job Manager (hereafter referred to as OJM) is necessary. Our company built the prototype of OJM in 2008 and applied it to a certain company's production management system, automatically starting around 150 jobs (bundles of multiple programs executed as a unit) every day, resulting in significant labor-saving effects. Since then, we have been continuously improving while clarifying the issues and lacking functionalities that have arisen.

One issue that needs to be addressed is the report output environment. How to output reports created on the server side to printers registered on the client side is surprisingly challenging. In this context, we encountered "Fujin Report" from Ai-Con, Inc. Our company develops business systems using mainframes and mini-computers, and we were able to create all reports based on our experiences. Additionally, we confirmed through a year of actual development that there were no deficiencies in practical functionality. Therefore, we decided to integrate our know-how in utilizing Fujin Report with Ai-Con, Inc. through technical collaboration and add it to our development standards, making it available for sale to everyone.

Free membership registrationSQLSequencer (hereinafter referred to as SQLS) is a system that sequentially executes multiple SQL statements that have been arranged in order in advance. Since our establishment in 2000, we have consistently built core business systems, and SQLS was born out of the thought process regarding how to standardize programs that do not involve screen processing (hereinafter referred to as batch processing). The prototype was developed in 2005, and we have experienced significant results from its actual use. Since then, we have not engaged in almost any batch programming at our company. We perform processing solely by describing the execution control XML given to SQLS. We have realized through actual system construction that SQLS allows for the construction of business systems at a very low cost and with high reliability. The only necessary knowledge is database design skills and SQL statements. In typical programming, additional knowledge such as language knowledge, object-oriented knowledge, and standardization rules for log output are also required. In this way, SQLS enables system construction with the minimum necessary knowledge, allowing participation in system construction tasks with minimal training. Moreover, it achieves high productivity and reduces variability in quality.
