The history of microwave heating in the food sector began in 1945 with Dr. Spencer of Raytheon in the United States, who invented the "cooking method using microwaves." This invention was inspired by the melting of a pocket candy bar during tests of a magnetron being developed for radar. In 1947, Raytheon announced the world's first commercial microwave oven, named "Radarange." This marked a historic first step, and since then, microwave power application devices have been utilized in various fields such as the rubber industry, food industry, and ceramic industry. Recently, the effects of shortening chemical synthesis times and heating metal powders have become topics of discussion at academic conferences, and new applications in different fields are anticipated. The history of microwave power applications is still relatively short, and it truly holds new and infinite possibilities.
