This document introduces a single-cell pickup experiment using a nano tweezers developed in collaboration with AIST. Nano tweezers are tweezers made by microfabricating silicon wafers using advanced technology. It includes features of the nano tweezers as well as observations of the experimental process. With MEMS technology, it allows for precise control of gripping force, making it suitable for a variety of samples, including analytical samples such as TEM specimens and biological samples like cells. The arm length is five times longer than conventional models (3mm), enabling access to samples located deep within liquids that were previously unreachable. It can be operated using commercially available power supplies (with a maximum voltage of over 150V), and the arm is driven by a comb-type electrostatic actuator. The maximum opening width at the tip is 100μm. By setting it on a manipulator attached to a microscope, you can operate while observing micro-sized samples.
