The Aoi Electronics Nano Tweezers are tweezers made from silicon wafers using MEMS (Micro Electro Mechanical System) technology. By applying voltage with a dedicated controller, the tips smoothly open and close, allowing for the grasping of objects ranging from nano to micron sizes. With the nano tweezers, we have successfully picked up TEM samples (width 3-5μm), bacteria and cells (φ1-20μm), as well as foreign objects and debris on silicon wafers and glass. In addition to precise control using electrostatic actuators, good gripping performance through parallel opening and closing, and a locking function that achieves high gripping force, they are also capable of handling samples in electronic beam environments (vacuum environments) such as SEM and FIB.
