Free membership registrationNo matter how much ferrite is heated and cooled, its hardness does not increase. Especially in the case of casting, a minimum pearlite rate of 70% or more is necessary for stable quenching. The material can affect the quality of heat treatment. Particularly with castings, there tends to be significant variation between batches, so caution is required. At Fuji Electronics, we have various inspection equipment in-house, including X-ray metal material analyzers, allowing for the rapid identification of root causes. *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationThe agricultural machinery components are exposed to road surfaces and gravel, so the outer surface is hardened to improve wear resistance. Traditionally, the workpiece was rotated at low speed for moving hardening, taking 360 seconds per piece to harden one workpiece. This allowed for only 10 pieces to be processed per hour, which posed a challenge in terms of productivity. By adopting Fuji Electronic Industries' one-shot heating immersion hardening, a uniform hardened layer can be ensured around the entire circumference. Additionally, the heating time is significantly shorter compared to moving hardening, reducing the cycle time to 90 seconds per piece and achieving a substantial increase in production capacity. Our semi-open coil greatly contributes to this high quality and high productivity. 【Features of the Semi-Open Coil】 - It covers only half of the workpiece, allowing the coil to be moved back during workpiece loading and unloading. - The space around the insertion position is free, eliminating concerns about damaging the workpiece by hitting the coil. - Handling by robots is also easy. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationIs your current inverter a transistor type? If you are using a vacuum tube or thyristor inverter, we recommend switching to a transistor inverter. Even if you are already using a transistor inverter, if you are operating two or more inverters simultaneously, consolidating them into one may reduce your contracted power. Fujielectronics' inverters can oscillate multiple frequencies suitable for the equipment. This can help reduce initial investment and contribute to space-saving. 【Before Improvement】 ■Usage Fee: 66,000 (kWh) × 17.2 (yen) = 1,135,200 yen ■Contracted Power: 350 kW × 1,733.40 (yen/kW) = 606,690 yen ■Total: 1,741,890 yen *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationSteel may seem very sturdy and stable, but if the heat treatment conditions or management methods are incorrect, it can easily crack. Many cracks are so small that they cannot be seen with the naked eye, and if used without noticing them, they can lead to damage starting from the cracks, potentially resulting in serious accidents. With Fuji Electronic Industry's one-shot quenching, it is possible to achieve a uniform hardened layer through overall heating/cooling with coils that follow the profile. Since the heating time is significantly reduced, the cycle time is less than half compared to conventional moving quenching, contributing to increased productivity. *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationIn recent years, the precision required for parts has become more advanced, and it is not uncommon for tolerances in drawings to be specified at less than a micron. Incorporating dimensional tolerances is a challenge, but when heat treatment is applied, dimensional changes will inevitably occur to some extent. There are various factors involved, but broadly speaking, two main causes can be identified: "dimensional changes due to the release of residual stress" and "dimensional changes due to structural transformation." It would be simple if we could just set a grinding allowance and achieve the dimensions in the final process, but a larger grinding allowance increases the amount of work required, and there are some features, such as knurling or surfaces with subtle angles, that are difficult to correct. Control over distortion requires a total process approach, and our company is engaged in efforts and development to minimize distortion for various parts. In particular, when changing processes from atmospheric treatment to high-frequency quenching, significant effects can be expected. If you are facing issues with distortion, please feel free to consult us. *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.*

Free membership registrationFirst, by heating iron above the transformation point temperature, it is converted into an austenite structure, allowing many carbon atoms to enter the iron atoms. Next, by rapidly cooling it, a very hard structure (martensite structure) is formed, in which many carbon atoms are trapped within the iron atoms in a cramped arrangement. This is called martensitic transformation, and the hardness after quenching increases with the amount of carbon. When cooling from austenite, the faster the cooling rate, the more martensite structure is formed. The temperature at which martensitic transformation occurs, known as the Ms point, decreases with an increasing amount of carbon, and the temperature at which the transformation ends, known as the Mf point, also decreases. The austenite structure that could not transform remains as "residual austenite." If left alone, residual austenite may gradually transform, potentially causing issues such as distortion or cracking. Therefore, it is necessary to forcibly transform it into martensite or stabilize the structure. However, since residual austenite has a lower hardness compared to martensite, in cases where wear resistance is required, such as on gear tooth surfaces, the sliding properties of residual austenite may also contribute positively.

Free membership registrationThere are various factors that cause dimensional changes, but broadly speaking, they can be categorized into two main types: "dimensional changes due to the release of residual stress" and "dimensional changes due to structural transformation (phase change)." Minimizing distortion in precision parts is extremely important, as forcing correction can lead to the risk of cracking, and the strength gained from hardening will undoubtedly decrease. Therefore, our company is engaged in efforts and development to minimize distortion in various components. In particular, when changing processes from atmospheric treatment to high-frequency hardening, significant effects can be expected. If you have concerns about distortion, please feel free to consult us. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us. ★ For inquiries by phone, please call: Osaka Headquarters → TEL: 072-991-1361 Nagoya → TEL: 052-322-1361 Tokyo → TEL: 03-5472-1361 *When calling, please mention that you saw us on "Ipros." Free membership registrationThis is an introduction to the electricity cost reduction proposed by our company through the use of inverters. If you are operating two or more inverters simultaneously, consolidating them into one unit may allow you to reduce your contracted power. In this case, we have combined two inverters into one, alternating their operation to reduce power consumption during peak times. Our inverters can generate multiple frequencies optimal for the items being processed. This not only reduces initial investment compared to installing two units but also contributes to space-saving. 【Overview】 ■ Consolidate two inverters into one to reduce electricity costs ■ By leveling out power usage during peak times, it is possible to reduce fixed costs associated with contracted power ■ Capable of generating multiple frequencies suitable for the items ■ Compared to installing two units, initial investment is reduced and space-saving is achieved *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationTraditionally, workpieces were moved and subjected to low-speed quenching, taking 360 seconds per piece to quench a single workpiece. This allowed for only 10 pieces to be processed per hour, which posed a challenge due to low productivity. Therefore, we adopted our one-shot heating immersion quenching. The heating time is significantly shorter compared to moving quenching, reducing the cycle time to 90 seconds per piece, which is one-fourth of the conventional time, achieving a substantial increase in production capacity. [Case Study] ■ Challenge: Low productivity, processing only 10 pieces per hour ■ Proposal: Adoption of one-shot heating immersion quenching ■ Result: Achieved a significant increase in production capacity *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us. ★ For inquiries by phone, please call: Osaka Headquarters → TEL: 072-991-1361 Nagoya → TEL: 052-322-1361 Tokyo → TEL: 03-5472-1361 *When calling, please mention "Ipros" as a reference. Free membership registrationWe would like to introduce a case study from Fuji Electric Industry, which has always been committed to solving the technical challenges faced by our customers as an expert in IH heat treatment. In this case, FCD600 material is used. High-frequency quenching, which allows for processing in a short time, is characterized by being more susceptible to the effects of material, such as segregation, compared to atmosphere heat treatment like carburizing furnaces. There are instances where the quality of heat treatment is affected by the material, and especially for castings, there tends to be greater variability between lots compared to other steel materials. 【Case Overview】 ■ Material: FCD600 ■ Hardness Standard: HRC 46 or higher *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us. ★ For inquiries by phone, please call: Osaka Headquarters → TEL: 072-991-1361 Nagoya → TEL: 052-322-1361 Tokyo → TEL: 03-5472-1361 *When calling, please mention that you saw this on "Ipros." Free membership registrationWe will introduce the reasons why heat treatment is necessary and the purpose of quenching. The first reason is improved sharpness. By applying quenching only to the cutting edge, the strength of the cutting edge increases. Next, there is an improvement in fatigue strength. In today's demand for lightweight components and longer product lifespans, this fatigue strength is being emphasized. Finally, there is an enhancement in wear resistance. By applying high-frequency quenching to harden the surface, we can prevent wear on components and improve wear resistance. 【Objectives】 ■ Improved sharpness ■ Improved fatigue strength ■ Enhanced wear resistance *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us. ★ For inquiries by phone, please call: Osaka Headquarters → TEL: 072-991-1361 Nagoya → TEL: 052-322-1361 Tokyo → TEL: 03-5472-1361 *When calling, please mention that you saw this on "Ipros." Free membership registrationWe will introduce why heat treatment is necessary and the benefits of quenching. First, one benefit is that quenching allows for the miniaturization and weight reduction of parts. Even small components can achieve strength equivalent to larger parts by increasing their strength through heat treatment, enabling miniaturization and weight reduction. The second benefit is the reduction of material costs. By applying quenching, it is possible to obtain strength equivalent to that of expensive materials even when using common materials. 【Features】 - Enables miniaturization and weight reduction of parts - Achieves strength equivalent to larger parts when strength is increased through heat treatment - An indispensable technology in the current automotive industry, where miniaturization and weight reduction are required - Reduces material costs - Achieves strength equivalent to expensive materials even when using common materials *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationFirst, "quenching" is a heat treatment technique that involves rapidly heating steel components and then cooling them quickly in water or other mediums, making the components hard and strong. The process of quenching using high-frequency induction heating is called "high-frequency quenching." While hardening steel components can make them brittle, applying quenching only to the surface while leaving flexibility in the interior (maintaining a state where the outside is hard and the inside is soft) can enhance strength. 【Features】 ■ Hardens and strengthens components by rapidly heating steel parts and then cooling them quickly in water or other mediums. ■ Improves strength by applying quenching only to the surface and retaining flexibility in the interior. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us. ★ For inquiries by phone, please call: Osaka Headquarters → TEL: 072-991-1361 Nagoya → TEL: 052-322-1361 Tokyo → TEL: 03-5472-1361 *When calling, please mention "Ipros was seen." Free membership registrationThis is the basic form of heat treatment, with quenching being its representative. Annealing is performed to soften steel, while tempering is done to make it tougher. In addition to these, there are heat treatments such as carburizing quenching and high-frequency quenching that harden the surface, but these are merely applications of the basic heat treatments. With the development of the machinery industry, needs have diversified, and in response, heat treatment has become complex and varied, but the fundamental forms are undoubtedly the four: quenching, tempering, annealing, and normalizing. ★ For inquiries by phone, please contact us here: Osaka Headquarters → TEL: 072-991-1361 Nagoya → TEL: 052-322-1361 Tokyo → TEL: 03-5472-1361 *When calling, please mention "Ipros was seen." Free membership registrationWhat is the 'cracking trouble' that occurs during high-frequency induction heating (high-frequency hardening)? ■ Types of Cracks ■ 1. Cracks due to overheating 2. Cracks due to overcooling 3. Grinding cracks ★ To understand why cracks occur, please download the 'causes' PDF document. ■ Steel Types Prone to Cracking ■ High carbon steel (0.45% C or more) > Alloy steel > Low carbon steel The risk of cracking due to overheating increases as you move to the left. High carbon steel has a larger pearlite area, making austenite diffusion during heating easier, and the crystal grains tend to grow larger easily. * For more details, please download the PDF document or feel free to contact us. ★ For inquiries by phone, please call: Osaka Headquarters → TEL: 072-991-1361 Nagoya → TEL: 052-322-1361 Tokyo → TEL: 03-5472-1361 * When calling, please mention "I saw this on Ipros." Free membership registrationThe target workpiece is a pipe-shaped workpiece placed horizontally in the heat treatment station at the center of the photo. This machine accommodates a wide variety of workpieces with different diameters and lengths through changeovers. Compared to passenger cars, the production volume of trucks is lower, and there are many types of the same parts, so the loading and unloading of workpieces is done manually through the central opening. The green unit above the workpiece is the heating coil, and the gold unit below the workpiece is the cooling jacket. After the workpiece is loaded, it descends with the receiving jig, is held up by center jigs on both sides, and the model identification is performed. After identification, it is moved sideways to the cooling jacket below the corresponding model's coil, where the coil descends from above, and the workpiece is rotated while heat treatment is performed. ★ For inquiries by phone, please contact us here: Osaka Headquarters → TEL: 072-991-1361 Nagoya → TEL: 052-322-1361 Tokyo → TEL: 03-5472-1361 * When calling, please mention "Ipros was seen."
