Seiko Instruments Inc. (SII) was established in 1937 as a watch manufacturing company within the Seiko Group. Starting from the production of wristwatches that require high precision and meticulousness, SII has developed a wide range of businesses, including machine tools boasting sub-micron processing accuracy, precision parts manufacturing, electronic components such as quartz oscillators and micro batteries developed during the process of quartz watch development, thermal printers that are compact, lightweight, and excel in quiet operation, and inkjet print heads, which are core components of large commercial inkjet printers. Moving forward, SII aims to continue its manufacturing that responds to societal needs with the "artisan, small, and efficient" technologies that have been passed down since its founding.
