Free membership registrationThis is an introduction to thermistors and the characteristics of thermistor control (advantages and disadvantages). ● Advantages: They are used as sensors for temperature measurement. The temperature range is approximately -50°C to 350°C. If the resistance value is known for a certain temperature, the temperature can be determined from the resistance value. An advantage is that when used in large quantities, they can be made inexpensively with a circuit board, electronic circuits, and power supply. ● Disadvantages: When used in small quantities, the cost increases, and the appeal of thermistors diminishes. Additionally, electrical components may not function properly due to cold, heat, or noise, making it necessary to be very careful about the installation environment. For more details, please download the catalog.

Free membership registrationThis is an introduction to the glossary of thermostat terminology. ● Differential (DIFF.) refers to the temperature difference in the ON/OFF state (also known as hysteresis). Control-type thermostats can maintain high precision in temperature control due to their small ON/OFF differential, but if the differential is too small, it can lead to an increased number of operations, resulting in a shorter lifespan. Therefore, it is important to select the optimal differential in the design. ● Tolerance refers to the allowable precision values for settings such as the target temperature. It is expressed as OFF setting value: 30℃±3 (℃) and DIFF.: 3–6 (℃). For more details, please download the catalog.

This varies significantly in the case of electronic thermostats (temperature variable type), electronic thermostats (temperature fixed type), high-temperature thermostats, and disc-type thermostats (for protectors). Free membership registrationWe will introduce knowledge for creating a good temperature control system. A thermal control system consists of four elements: [User], [Power source such as heater or cooler], [Thermostat], and [Object to be heated]. Let's thoroughly investigate whether these four elements are being used in the best possible way. If we refine this sufficiently, there should be no defects. 1. For example, are you using an oversized heater to quickly raise the temperature of the object to the desired level relative to its heat capacity? If you can wait a little longer for the initial temperature rise, the lifespan may increase threefold. 2. Let's first reconfirm the ultimate goal of this temperature control and consider the surrounding materials. We should reconsider such matters. For more details, please download the catalog.

Free membership registrationTo prevent the temperature rise of the control panel inside the engine compressor of the commercial air conditioning unit, the M3 30YB temperature power sensor 5Amp. series is adopted as a temperature control thermostat. The M3 30YB turns the fan ON at temperatures above 30℃ and turns it OFF at temperatures below 25℃. It controls the fan to maintain the temperature below 30℃. In this way, the temperature power sensor (TPS) can be easily used as an alternative to thermistor control. For more details, please contact us.

Free membership registrationI will explain the regional share of Temperature Power Sensors (TPS). It has been over 20 years since Temperature Power Sensors were introduced to the market. During this time, they have gradually penetrated the world with catchphrases such as "high-performance thermos that can replace electronic thermos at a fraction of the price." It is natural for advanced products like TPS to be adopted first in regions with significant technological accumulation. In developing regions, the manufacturing stage involves receiving designs from advanced regions, so it will take time before they reach the level of creating unique products using TPS. Free membership registrationAs for the applications of the Temperature Power Sensor (TPS), even if electrical products of a nature that have never existed before are created, it doesn't necessarily mean they will become hits just because they are "cheap, high-performance, compact, and long-lasting." This is not always the case. For example, "this product excels in this aspect compared to similar products currently on the market," "although this is more expensive compared to this, it excels in this aspect," and "household appliances were satisfactory with conventional products since they are used in large boxes, but for communication devices, conventional products do not fit, so the temperature power sensor is just right." After accumulating these points over 15 years, I feel that it has finally been recognized in the market and its evaluation has become established since entering the 21st century. Free membership registrationAs a method of displaying the contact configuration, our company manufactures thermostats used as controllers, which makes the display method more complex than in the case of protectors. In written form, it can be expressed as follows: ● Items that open with rising temperature are designated as X, and those that close with rising temperature are designated as Y, indicating the operating temperature during temperature rise (high temperature side). For the same items, if the operating temperature during temperature drop (low temperature side) is emphasized, we use the symbols X-bar (a line over X) and Y-bar (a line over Y). X-bar represents items that close with a decrease in temperature, while Y-bar represents items that open with a decrease in temperature. For more details, please download the catalog.

Free membership registrationI will explain about crossbar contacts (micro-capacity contacts). Our 2Amp and 5Amp series set the minimum current for regular contacts at 50mA, and anything below that uses crossbar contacts, referred to as K contacts. The range for crossbar contacts is set between 1mA and 100mA, so the shared range between regular contacts and micro-capacity contacts is between 50mA and 100mA. Please consider the range of crossbar contacts to be from 1mA to 100mA. Due to the small contact area, the likelihood of micro debris getting trapped within the contacts and causing poor contact is low. For more details, please download the catalog.

Free membership registrationAs a practical method for measuring heat capacity, the thermal time constant is an accurate way to grasp the heat capacity of an object, but it is somewhat too academic for everyday practical use. Therefore, as a practical guideline, I have summarized in a table how well the thermostat's temperature can adapt to changes in ambient temperature compared to the thermostat's simple heat capacity. If the rate of change in ambient temperature is fast, the thermostat's thermal adaptation will be delayed; however, if the rate of change is slow, it can be seen that the thermostat can adequately keep up with the temperature changes. Free membership registrationIn the thermal time constant of temperature power sensors, those with good thermal conductivity become familiar easily, while those with poor thermal conductivity take longer to become familiar. The degree of familiarity is expressed in terms of the thermal time constant. We measured the thermal time constants of the MQT8 series of temperature power sensors. The thermal time constant is represented by the time it takes to reach 60% of the temperature change range. As shown in the difference table, regardless of whether the temperature change range is large or small, if the object and measurement conditions are the same, the same values are indicated. The thermal time constants measured in air with a wind speed of 1 to 1.5 m are 102 seconds for MQT8, 160 seconds for M2, and 195 seconds for M3. In water, the thermal time constant is smaller because water is more effective at extracting heat from the object than air. For more details, please download the catalog.

Free membership registrationWhen using a thermostat in a DC voltage circuit, it is important to pay attention to contact wear. Essentially, you should check the contact capacity according to the voltage/DIF. rank. In other words, for example, AC125V and DC12V can both handle up to 5A, while AC250V and DC24V can handle up to 3A at the same current. The mechanism by which contacts wear due to arcing consists of four elements: (a) the magnitude of the voltage, (b) the magnitude of the current, (c) the rate of contact separation and engagement, and (d) the material of the contacts and the condition of the contact surface. The mechanical lifespan of the temperature power sensor exceeds 2 million cycles, but when used under heavy load, the lifespan is limited due to contact wear. The lifespan indication is based on 100,000 cycles at rated load, so if used below the rated load, the lifespan will be even longer. For more details, please download the catalog.

Free membership registrationThis is an explanation about internal heat generation based on load. In electrical components such as relays, thermostats, and switches that open and close contacts, the load capacity is constrained by the heat generated at the contact points. Particularly, since thermostats are switches that operate based on temperature, the heat generated at the contact points affects the operating temperature and the differential. The contact capacity displayed on temperature power sensors is shown with a margin for heat generation. For more details, please download the catalog.
