Nippon Sheet Glass Co., Ltd. (Minato-ku, Tokyo, President and CEO Shigeki Mori) has successfully developed a transparent conductive metal oxide thin film on thin glass (0.7mm thick) using CVD (Chemical Vapor Deposition) technology in an online glass manufacturing process. This 0.7mm transparent conductive film (TCO) glass, named 'NSG TEC', is the world's thinnest glass with a transparent conductive film that can be produced using online CVD. Transparent conductive film glass is increasingly being adopted for various applications, including solar cells, construction, vehicles, medical use, and various electronic devices, expanding the possibilities for further applications. To meet the needs of these applications, Nippon Sheet Glass has introduced CVD equipment capable of producing metal oxide films online, enabling the thinning and lightweighting of glass while also producing and developing durable and chemical-resistant transparent conductive films. In the future, we will continue to propose the 0.7mm transparent conductive film (TCO) glass 'NSG TEC' as a next-generation material and prepare for its practical application.

Nippon Sheet Glass Co., Ltd. (Minato-ku, Tokyo, President and CEO Shigeki Mori) has recently received the Minister of the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy Award at the 2017 Energy Conservation Grand Prize (Product and Business Model Category) for its ultra-high insulation vacuum glass "Super Spacia®." This award marks the third time for a vacuum glass product, following the vacuum glass "Spacia®" (1998) and the multi-layer vacuum glass "Spacia 21® Heat Shield Clear" (2013). The ultra-high insulation vacuum glass "Super Spacia®" is our new product launched in October last year. Compared to the conventional vacuum glass "Spacia®," it has improved insulation performance by approximately 54% (achieving a thermal transmittance of 0.65 W/(m²·K)). Despite being only 10.2 mm thick, it achieves insulation performance equivalent to or better than 50 mm thick glass wool used as insulation material. The award-winning product will be on display at our booth in the award corner of "ENEX 2018, the 42nd Exhibition on Earth Environment and Energy Harmony," held at Tokyo Big Sight from February 14 (Wednesday) to 16 (Friday), 2018 (organized by the Energy Conservation Center, Japan).

Nippon Sheet Glass Co., Ltd. (Minato-ku, Tokyo, President and CEO Shigeki Mori) announced on October 2 the launch of its ultra-high insulation vacuum glass "Super Spacia(R)." The vacuum glass "Spacia(R)" is the world's first high-insulation window glass successfully commercialized by Nippon Sheet Glass. By trapping a 0.2mm vacuum layer between two glass panes, it achieves insulation performance approximately four times that of single glass and about twice that of typical double-glazed glass. Since its release in October 1997, it has received positive feedback and has expanded its lineup. The newly released "Super Spacia(R)" improves insulation performance by approximately 54% compared to the vacuum glass "Spacia(R)," achieving insulation performance equivalent to or greater than that of 50mm thick glass wool, while being only 10.2mm thick. 【Insulation Performance Improvement Technology】 "Super Spacia(R)" enhances insulation performance by expanding the spacing of the micro spacers that maintain the vacuum layer between the two glass panes from 20mm to 28mm, thereby reducing heat conduction through the spacers by half.
