We would like to introduce a case study on the improvement of "cracking" similar to cracks that occur on the press edge of our special films. We received a request to press a special film that suppresses the iridescence phenomenon into a rectangular shape using a Thomson blade. However, after approximately 9,000 uses, fine but sporadic substrate cracking began to occur again. In a hurry, we checked the pressing conditions for both the product and the waste parts, and found that the sponge used on the product side was affecting the cracking. We reviewed the sponge conditions and arrived at a method of inserting the sponge that does not cause cracking. Now, we can use the product not just for 9,000 times, but even for 30,000 times without any occurrence of cracking. We received a request for product processing using PET from a medical device manufacturer, and we would like to introduce a case study we conducted. Initially, we attempted processing with annealing treatment at a general temperature, but the dimensions shifted after processing, and we could not achieve a dimensional accuracy within ±0.01mm, leading us to almost give up on this project. However, after researching various literature and repeatedly testing different conditions, we finally discovered annealing treatment at a temperature close to the melting point, which is far from the general temperature, as well as the heating rate, annealing temperature duration, and cooling rate. We received a request for punching and contour cutting processing from an automotive parts manufacturer, and we would like to introduce a case study of our response. Initially, the designed mold was one where changing the height of the die would alter the height of both the hole and the contour. Even if we wanted to make the hole deeper, the contour would also become deeper, resulting in a high number of defective products. We would like to introduce a case where measures were taken to address product curling through separator peeling and re-lamination. Curling caused by the material had occurred, but there was no response from the material manufacturer, and products were shipped with the curling as is. Customers indicated that products without curling are easier to use, prompting us to consider countermeasures. It was found that peeling the separator eliminated the curling, so we verified whether reapplying the separator would also be effective, and the results showed sufficient effectiveness. Additionally, since we were able to address the issue with reapplication rather than replacement of the separator, we implemented measures without using additional materials. Here is an example of the shared use of Thomson-type base plates for different devices. There are multiple types of press devices that use the Thomson type, and the shape of the base plate (foundation) to which the Thomson type is attached differs for each model. We improved the shape of the base plate so that the Thomson type can be shared among different devices. This has increased the options for processing equipment and made it possible to distribute processing to another device when focusing on one device.
