The grand prizes were awarded to the "Gear-Embedded Motor" (Coreless Motor = Yamato City, President Manabu Shiraki) and the "Rapid Curing System for Adhesives Using Superheated Steam" (Hori Glass = Atsugi City, President Katsumi Takamoto). This award was established in 1984 to encourage and enhance technological development. It targets technologies and products from small and medium-sized enterprises or groups composed of these companies that have business locations in the prefecture. Conditions include that the development occurred within approximately three years and that the products have been commercialized or their effectiveness has been demonstrated. The selection was made by a committee composed of experts with academic and practical experience in various technical fields.
