The Taketomo Electric Company’s tension pressure meter and texture meter reproduce the chewing action, physically measure it, and quantify the chewing sensation.
We are a manufacturer of texture measuring devices (tensiometers, texture analyzers). Focusing on the mechanical property testing equipment for food, we commercialized and began manufacturing the texture analyzer, a sensory testing device for food by General Foods, in 1966, and we continue to this day.

Business Activities
Development and sales of physical property (texture) measuring instruments. We quantify all types of food, from soft to hard, according to customer needs. Measurements we specialize in: 1) Cooked rice grains: hardness, chewiness, stickiness, viscosity 2) Individual rice grains: surface and overall hardness, viscosity 3) Noodles: hardness, elasticity, viscosity 4) Fried foods: hardness, crispiness 5) Meat: tenderness, chewiness, flexibility, brittleness, elasticity 6) Seaweed: melt-in-mouth ease, hardness Additionally, we can measure bread, jelly, vegetables, etc. Measurements for food for individuals with swallowing difficulties and universal design food are also possible.
