I.S.T Corporation is a research and development-oriented manufacturer based in Shiga Prefecture. We develop functional materials that do not exist in the world and propose and provide them to our customers. We mainly handle heat-resistant and flame-retardant functional materials, focusing on non-combustible inorganic fibers that are composites of polyimide resins and fluorine resins. Our range of products, which are applied and processed from these materials, is active in a wide variety of fields, including office automation equipment, construction, electrical, electronics, and aerospace.
Business Activities
The polyimide resin business handles polyimide resin products such as "PYRE-M.L." and "SKYBOND," acquired from a major American chemical manufacturer, along with improved and newly developed polyimide resin products. The imaging business develops and manufactures components for OA equipment that utilize seamless tubes and belts made of polyimide, highly compounded with silicone rubber and fluororesin. The functional flame-retardant fiber business applies fibers with functions such as flame resistance, fire retardancy, chemical resistance, and slip properties, which are composites of glass fibers, aramid fibers, and fluororesin, for industrial applications (flame-retardant bag filter sewing threads) and architectural sound-absorbing wall coverings. In addition to these, we have many other developed materials and are engaged in a wide range of business expansion.
