Jōshin Kōgyō Co., Ltd. is a company located in Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture, that designs and manufactures control panels for machine tools, various types of covers, monitors for railway platforms, camera mounting brackets, metal laser processing, and various precision sheet metal processing. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, we considered what contributions a sheet metal manufacturing company could make. As a result of our comprehensive approach to planning, design, prototyping, and manufacturing sales, we began selling pedal-operated disinfectant stands. Infection control measures are not a temporary issue; they will become a very basic solution in the new normal after COVID-19. We aim to expand from Aichi Prefecture and Nagoya to the entire country and globally, contributing to the end of the pandemic. Being a small company allows us to respond to options in a timely manner. Our development and design policy for the pedal-operated disinfectant stand includes: 1) Reliable design that withstands commercial and professional use, 2) Eliminating infections from hand-pump sources to alleviate visitors' concerns, 3) Ensuring that many visitors can quickly and reliably complete hand disinfection, meeting the expectations of adopters, and 4) Considering disaster recovery scenarios, requiring no power supply. We have started the in-house development and sales of the pedal-operated disinfectant stand as a product for COVID-19 infection control, and we have already received positive feedback from various sectors, with many adoptions coming in!
