Generally, aluminum die-casting chips were made from SKD61 hot work tool steel, but recently there are also chips made from cost-effective chrome-molybdenum steel (SCM). After wear from use, during the dimensional restoration and overlay welding regeneration process, at Nishino Manufacturing, SKD61 material is used for overlay welding on the outer diameter of such chips, and unique heat treatment and nitriding processes are applied for dimensional restoration.
